CCP-Controlled Media Mocks Biden for Beijing Olympics Soft Boycott

China’s top English-language propagandists ridiculed President Joe Biden Tuesday after he announced that the U.S. would allow them to participate in the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. However, uninvited politicians were not allowed to attend. They compared the move to charging an “apparel fee” to use public toilets.

Biden’s administration has called the move a “diplomatic ban,” and claimed it was the right decision. It also sent a clear message that America didn’t approve of China’s ongoing human rights atrocities. This includes the genocide committed against the Uyghur ethnic group through mass sterilization campaigns, concentration camps, and other methods.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry, the Chinese government-run media outlets and their opinion personalities have repeatedly stated that the diplomats Biden claims are “boycotting” this event were not invited and played no role in the execution of the athletic events.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC), governments all over the globe have been under increasing pressure from human rights groups, as well as victims of Chinese communism, to move or postpone the 2022 Winter Olympics. They also need to avoid rewarding the Communist Party with an honorable global platform.

The IOC has refused to acknowledge these concerns, insisting that it does not have the power to stop the Olympics from being taken over by tyrants, because “we aren’t a global government.”

Chen Weihua, a well-known misogynistic editor at the state-run China Daily, constantly replied to the news of the diplomatic boycott by saying, “You’re not invited.”

Chen posted another blog post in which he responded to Biden’s move saying “you are not welcome anyway” and even accused American diplomats of possibly bringing in COVID-19 to the communist-controlled nation where the virus actually originated.

On the other hand, Hu Xijin, the editor-in-chief of CCP-run propaganda newspaper Global Times, called the Biden administration “super narcissistic.”

Chinese government mouthpiece the Xinhua News Agency also chimed in, stating that “The success of the games does not rely on the attendance of a handful of countries’ government officials.”

“Whether you come or not, the Beijing Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games are there, and will be a success,” Xinhua added.
