Sen. Ron Johnson: Dems Putting ‘Lipstick on a Pig’ Amid Afghan Chaos

The chaos and failed Afghanistan withdrawal is a result of poor planning, or a lack of planning and the narratives to the contrary are merely trying to “put lipstick on this pig,” according to Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis.

“This is so chaotic; this is so unorganized; this is so unplanned,” Johnson told Sunday’s “The Cats Roundtable” on WABC 770 AM-N.Y. “When you’re disorganized, when you’re this unplanned in this type of environment, it creates and enormous national security and Homeland Security risk. And they’re just not admitting it.

“They’re trying to put lipstick on this pig, but there’s not enough lipstick in the world to do it.”

Johnson noted this is proof positive elections have consequences, and this case they have been disastrous.

“We’re realizing the results that elections matter, and when you put Democrats in power, you just see one disaster after another,” he told host John Catsimatidis. “There are not words to describe how badly this thing has bungled.

“The image of America to our adversaries, to our allies, to our friends, this is just a display of just pathetic weakness. But that’s Joe Biden. That’s the Democratic Party that enables someone like Joe Biden. I hope America wakes up. They have to wake up in 2022 to sweep the Democratic Party out of power.”

Johnson, who represents a state that has been assigned to take in Afghan refugees, said there are serious concerns about the vetting of those were airlifted out of Kabul.

“I’m not buying what the administration is saying here that everybody is biometrically screened,” he said. “Maybe they’re taking their finger prints, but what are they comparing it to?

“Do you think that ISIS members, or Taliban members are on our biometric databases?”

And overseas, the “bungled” withdrawal has emboldened terrorists and equipped our enemies, Johnson warned.

“Obviously the loss of life is the most serious problem, but I shudder to think how we’ve equipped the Taliban, what type of technology they are now aware of, that our enemies are aware of,” he said. “Let’s face it: China is cooperating with the Taliban. They may be their best friends.

“This is such an unmitigated disaster. Words just can’t describe what a travesty this is.”

This comes back to the Democrats propping up President Joe Biden in the past election to seize power for themselves, at the expense of American strength and nation security, Johnson said.

“There is no mandate, [and an] incredibly thin margin in the House – they figure the American people aren’t buying what they’re selling, so they figure they have to this two-year time period – they’re going to do everything they can do grow government, make people more dependent on government — which means being more dependent on the Democrat Party — so they can lock in power long-term,” Johnson said.

“That is their strategy. That’s their goal. That’s what they’re carrying out. I just hope and pray that we can turn the situation around, because right now, we are on a path toward socialist-Marxism.”
